Time & Tides - Erith's mosaic earth core columns
Five metal and mosaic clad columns at the entrance to a pedestrian underpass. A collaboration between artists Gary Drostle and Onya MacCausland, the columns were designed after creative workshops with local school children and were inspired by earth core drills and the tide marks of the local River Thames. The metal cut segments were derived from the children’s writings and the Venetian Glass mosaic based on layers in the earth.
