Experience that counts

Gary’s vast experience as a mural artist means he is able to offer a wide range of solutions to your design needs. Employing a range of technical skills Gary is able to create your ideal mural. He is experienced in working with some of the best mural paints around, including: Keim Mineral Paints; true Buon Fresco; pure Artists Acrylics; and a number of other techniques.

Tailored to your needs

Gary is a firm believer in listening to your wishes as the first step to create your unique mural. Together we can create a mural that is something special. As a professional mural artist Gary will also take into account the architecture and surrounding area. This will ensure that the final design harmonises well.

What you can expect from a commission

A typical mural commission will begin with a face to face meeting where we can look at your wall and talk about your ideas. This is also an opportunity to take measurements and look at technical details and methods. Discuss timetables and anything else connected to your mural design. After this meeting Gary will return to the studio to draw up a couple of design ideas based on our discussions. From these initial sketch ideas you are normally able to choose your favoured solution. This design along with any adjustments requested is then drawn up to the final scale full-colour design.

Only when you are completely happy with the design and have signed it off will the painting work begin. You will be given a timetable outlining the painting works to be undertaken. All works are carried out by Gary, and his personal assistants if the work is very large. Gary usually works in a four stage process: Wall preparation; Design transfer/drawing; Chiarascuro underpainting; final colour painting.

Once the mural is complete it will be given an appropriate protective coating.
