This 4 feet x 24 feet mural depicts the history of the waterfront at Woolwich and was painted for the new Queen Elizabeth hospital in Woolwich. The mural depicts the history in a seamless panorama which appears to represent a day, beginning in the morning with a Roman Galley appearing from the rivers morning mist and ending with the lights of Canary Wharf in the distance as the sun sets.

In the image here you can see the section depicting the Prison Hulks and the prisoners building the river wall, which also became the grave to many of them struck down by the local malaria 'The Plumstead Ague'.
