St Annes-On-Sea in Lancashire has just opened it's new street performance arena.

Lying at the top end of the towns newly refurbished high street area 'The Square' this street theatre space has been designed to accommodate small live performances of music, art, poetry, theatre and dance. The space consists of two tiers of seating arranged in a circle of four quarters with a metalwork surround. At the centre of the performance area is Gary's mosaic.

Measuring 3.5 metres diameter the design in vitreous ceramic tesserae depicts the arts in four sections: music; dance; visual art; drama. The border was inspired by the superbly crafted floors of the 'Porritt houses' built in St.Annes.
