mosaic maker and mural artist Gary Drostle

Commissioned as part of the Ards Borough Councils peninsular art trail these three mural panels were painted for the small fishing village of Portavogie in Northern Ireland. The murals were painted for the village school and celebrate the history of the fishing industry in the village.

Designed by Gary and chosen by the villagers from an open competition the panels show the changing lives of the local fishermen, whose children attend the school.

The panels were painted in artists acrylics and then varnished and framed before being fixed to the front of the school.
