This ambitious mural was commissioned by King's College Hospital in 1996 and plots the development of medical science from the earliest times to the present day.

Gary carefully designed the mural to fit this unusual barrel vault using this blue style to harmonise with the building. A great deal of research was carried out into the history and the mural contains many portraits taken from contemporary sources, including: Vesallius (top left); Freud and Lister.

The mural was painted in the studio onto boards using artists acrylics (below left).
