This unusual gateway marker was the result of a collaboration between Gary and Campbell Design & Engineering in South Yorkshire.

The coloumn is topped with four mosaic panels in ceramic and glass which depict four important features of the town:-

The Rolls Royce and the Merlin Engine

The Coal Mining Industry

The lace and Shawl weavers

Kempe Stained Glass
