AS FEATURED ON ITV's TONIGHT with Trevor MacDonald

August 2006

A dramatic landmark gateway feature for the main roundabout entering Erith in Kent has just been completed..

This 7.5 metre high mosaic sculpture, which marks the entrance to the town, has just been completed.

The design was inspired by the old town coat of arms which was adopted from the family arms of the powerful Richard de Luci, supporter of King Stephen, and owner of Erith during the reign of Stephen and Henry II.

Part of the project has included working with local young people at Erith's Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme seen below making their own mosaic fish.
