Commission Guide
From concept to completion and aftercare
Although your commission will be tailor made to suit the requirements of your own site and needs this simple step by step guide should give you a good feel for the process involved in commissioning a typical site specific artwork from Gary. Follow the links below to step through the process.
Throughout your commission Gary's aim is to keep you informed and inspired.

Costing your artwork
Of course the first step towards achieving your artwork commission is determining the cost. There are two ways in which this can be approached, you may say "this is what I would like, how much would it cost?" or "this is how much I have to spend, what can I get for my money". Either way Gary aims to make this as simple as possible by providing a cost that includes all the elements that make up a commission, design, fabrication and installation and by pointing out any options you may have along the way.
For some sites there will be an additional site preparation cost, such as remedial repairs to a wall or laying a foundation for a mosaic floor. Where this is the case this will be made clear and costing options provided.
You can get your cost estimate here.
Payments
Once the cost has been agreed payments for your commission are required in stages throughout the process. This will usually follow the pattern: 50% on commencement of the commission; 30% before installation of the completed work; 20% on satisfactory completion.
Payment can be made by cheque or direct bank transfer in UK Sterling or US Dollars. UK sales are subject to VAT at the standard rate.
