At well over 110m x 2.2 m this mural is huge, but what really set this project apart was the design method. Only a small sample sketch was produced for the client, the London Borough of Islington. The full design itself was produced spontaneously as the mural was painted. This bright and lively mural was designed to uplift the dingy underpass and combat a high level of graffiti. The mural was created by the Haringey Mural Workshop team of Gary Drostle, Hilary Loebner, Joan White and Ruth Priestly. note: May 2002 Unfortunately this mural has now been buried along with the rest of the underpass as the local authority switches to pedestrian crossings. Who knows, maybe in a thousand years?. | ||||
